Art Deco wedding inspiration {featured on Polka Dot Bride}

art-deco-wedding-table

I feel very privileged to have been apart of this beautiful art deco inspired photo shoot working with such talented Brisbane wedding suppliers. Being art deco, the concept is distinctly vintage but with a glamorous edge. Elements such as the art deco style layered fan shapes were taken from the stationery to the cake keeping all the elements and style cohesive. The shoot was held at the beautiful Tivoli Theatre. It was built in 1917 — perfectly Art Deco and restored in style providing the perfect venue for this inspirational photo shoot! We hope you've enjoyed the imagery and it offers you much inspiration! If you are after more shots from this shoot - it was featured on Polka Dot Bride so click the button below to check out more beautiful art deco wedding images. New York Style

new-yord-invitation-2

Create a minimalistic feel using clean lines and bold accents of colour that 'pop' against a classic black and white background. Ensure whatever you choose for your 'signature cocktail' matches your colour scheme. So, what do you think? I'd love to hear from you, or better yet, if you know of someone that may like this - why not share the love. Bye for now, Michelle Credits: Photography: Chesterton Smith Photography, Coolum.  Floristry: The White Magnolia, Peregian Beach.  Chairs and crockery: Adorn Event Hire, Eatons Hill. Vases: Splash Events, Noosaville.

Eco-chic wedding

eco-minded-feature

Beautiful hand made papers, skeleton leaves, twine and kraft paper... these are a few of my favourite things!! The save the date pack includes a seed packet with the quote on the front as a sticker 'Love begins as a seed' and on the back 'And grows when nurtured'. The invitation set, feels as good as it looks. Soft and delicate. Some reception inspiration: a succulent as the wedding favour, kraft paper place cards and the centrepiece displays thyme, rosemary and mixed herbs creating a beautiful and fragrant aroma in a gorgeous silver antique tea set. Offset them with old books... and your eco wedding look is complete. So, what do you think? I'd love to hear from you, or better yet, if you know of someone that may like this - why not share the love. Inspired by fabric #2

inspired-by-fabric-feature

You may have seen a previous post of mine based around a piece of fabric I found in the back of my hallway cupboard. You can see it here if you haven't. This one is indeed another version. I just love beautiful fabric and will look for any excuse to pull out my Mum's old Bernina sewing machine. To compliment the wonderful rustic, country and "hand-made" feel this set creates - an ideal favour is hand-made jam in preserving jars. The lids are also perfect for slotting your piece of fabric into. Another way to use the fabric is in the ceremony 'order of service'. It nicely adds texture your guests can feel. Also displayed is our well-known 'tears for joy' hankerchief gifts. Reception styling is full of colour and texture. Emblem place cards and a rose tied with twine. Love is in the details. A yellow retro scooter just...

You are my sunshine

you-are-my-sunshine-featured-image

This collection makes me smile. As most of you know I live in the sunny state (well most of the time) of Queensland... more accurately perhaps I should say, I live on the Sunshine Coast of the sunny state of Queensland! This last month we have had such spectacular weather that it inspired me to create this energising stationery set. It features a square invitation and response card, and the colours scream spring which is ideal timing. I've used daisies and blue eyed wild flowers to add a fresh, whimsical feel. I hope you enjoy viewing this inspiration piece as much I have creating it. The table setting stationery consists of sunflower seed favours with 'thank you' tags and place cards. Simple, beautiful details highlight the 'You are my sunshine' wedding stationery range. Well I hope you feel as energised as I do after scrolling through these images. So, let...

Tall Poppy collection

tall-poppy-collection-feature

The Tall Poppy collection is naturally, our 'signature' collection. Well I think the inspiration for this one should be pretty clear. I have been wanting to design a range around the beautiful poppy for ages, so finally, here it is!! Colour is emphasised in the watercolour poppy wreath. Pinks, reds, pascals and green-y blues take stage with a wonderful vintage overtone. This design is one of my "off the rack" designs so can be purchased for half the cost of an original custom design. Great for the budget conscious bride - who happens to love poppies! Included in the invitation pack is a square folded invitation, response card and matching envelope and weekend events card. Here's a close up of the watercolour detail. Poppies are a statement on their own and can't be ignored! Whether you like bold colour or pascals, you can have it all with this beautifully versatile...

Birds of a feather collection

birds-of-a-feather-feature-image

Welcome to the first of my "off the rack" wedding stationery designs. This range is based on two robin's escaping their cages to find each other! It's for the romantic bride who believes love has no boundaries. The invitation and response card show details of beautiful typography and flowing lines. 'Birds of a feather' is designed with billy buttons in mind. The set is a full wedding stationery range covering the ceremony and reception. Menus and place cards are here to show but I can design anything you need. Add a key to the place cards to subtly carry the bird cage theme across to your reception tables. 'Tears of joy' handkerchief cards are a perfect ceremony gift for the guests. Let us know what you think. I'd love to hear from you, or better yet; if you know of someone that may like this - why not share this...

Modern Glam wedding invitations

featured-image

I designed these letterpress wedding invitations for the latest edition of 'The Bride's Tree' online magazine. The theme was 'Modern Glam'. They are two colour and silver foiled on a beautiful cotton paper. The letterpress printing is by The Creative Emporium in Brisbane. They did an superb job! (This photo by Chesterton Smith Photography)  I also supplied ceremony stationery consisting of an order or service fan and 'tears of joy' handkerchief card. The design of reception and table setting stationery involved supplying table numbers, place cards, menus and favours. The favours are french glass jars with macarons supplied by the lovely (and very patient) Mel from Chocolate 2 Chilli.   Below is a list of the other Sunshine Coast wedding professionals that were involved this gorgeous photo shoot. “I DO” wedding invitations

featured-image

{Michella + Lachlan} This afternoon's post showcases some wedding invitations that went out this week for a Sunshine Coast wedding to be held in beautiful Spring of this year, at Coolum. Michella and Lachlan came to me loving the "I do" "Me too" concept along with some heart/flower invitations she'd seen on the web... so with this in mind we customised some invitations that embraced both ideas and put them into one beautiful invitation set. And here it is: The wedding invitation pack consists of a 3-fold invitation with rounded edges, rsvp and accommodation card inserted with matching reply envelope. With a gorgeous colour palette of dusty pink, grey and white, this wedding is sure to be absolutely beautiful. Stay tuned for the rest of the stationery closer to the time. Until then, signing off for another week. Bye for now, Michelle
